There are many hiking trails in Ketchikan, from a short one mile level trail around beautiful Ward Lake to a steep five mile hike up Deer Mountain with spectacular views of the city and several of the surrounding islands.  Even the Deer Mountain hike, although steep, is easy enough for most people to accomplish in 4-5 hours.
